Crispy oven-baked chicken coated in golden breadcrumbs and finished with a sticky, spicy-sweet hot honey glaze. Sweet, spicy, and crunchy — without frying.

Ingredients

  • lbs chicken thighs or breasts
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, whisked
  • 1½ cups panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • Cooking spray or olive oil

Hot Honey:

  • ½ cup honey
  • 12 tbsp hot sauce
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken in buttermilk with salt and paprika for 30 minutes.
  2. Toast panko at 400°F for 5–7 minutes. Cool.
  3. Set up breading station: seasoned flour, eggs, and toasted panko.
  4. Dredge chicken in flour, dip in egg, and coat in panko.
  5. Bake at 400°F on a rack-lined tray for 20–25 minutes until golden and cooked through.
  6. Make hot honey by warming honey, hot sauce, and red pepper flakes in a saucepan.
  7. Drizzle over baked chicken and serve hot.

Notes

Air fry or shallow fry for variation. Use gluten-free ingredients if needed. Adjust honey heat level to taste.
