Mediterranean Chicken Kofta with Garlic Yogurt Sauce

Juicy, spiced chicken koftas served with a cool, creamy garlic yogurt sauce. Easy to make, rich in flavor, and perfect for wraps, rice bowls, or party platters.

Ingredients

For the Koftas:
lbs ground chicken
½ onion, grated
3 garlic cloves, minced
¼ cup chopped parsley
2 tbsp chopped cilantro
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp coriander
1 tsp smoked paprika
½ tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp allspice
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper
1 egg, beaten
⅓ cup breadcrumbs
Olive oil for cooking

For the Garlic Yogurt Sauce:
1 cup plain Greek yogurt
1 garlic clove, grated
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp olive oil
Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Mix all kofta ingredients in a large bowl until just combined.
  2. Shape into 12–14 koftas. Chill 15–20 minutes.
  3. Cook:
    • Pan-fry 4–5 mins per side, or
    • Bake at 400°F for 18–22 mins, flipping once, or
    • Grill 4–5 mins per side.
  4. Whisk together yogurt sauce ingredients.
  5. Serve koftas with sauce and garnish as desired.v

Notes

Use turkey or lamb if preferred. Add chili flakes for heat. Gluten-free option: use almond flour. Freezes well raw or cooked.
