Classic Swedish meatballs made with beef and pork, spiced with allspice, and simmered in a rich creamy gravy. Serve with mashed potatoes and lingonberry jam.

For the Meatballs:
½ lb ground beef
½ lb ground pork
½ cup breadcrumbs
¼ cup milk
1 small onion, grated
1 egg
½ tsp allspice
¼ tsp nutmeg
¾ tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
For the Gravy:
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp flour
2 cups beef broth
½ cup heavy cream (or sour cream)
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional)
Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
Combine breadcrumbs and milk. Let sit.
Add remaining meatball ingredients. Mix and roll into balls.
Brown in a skillet and set aside.
Make gravy by whisking butter and flour, then slowly adding broth and cream.
Return meatballs to pan and simmer until cooked through.
