This honey lemon chicken recipe features tender chicken in a bright, sticky-sweet lemon glaze. Quick, flavorful, and ready in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
1 tbsp cornstarch
1½ tbsp olive oil
¼ cup honey
2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
1 tsp lemon zest
2 tsp soy sauce
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (for slurry)
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional garnish: lemon slices, parsley, sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Season chicken with salt and pepper. Toss with 1 tbsp cornstarch.
  2. Heat oil in skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken 3–4 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  3. In a bowl, whisk honey, lemon juice, zest, soy sauce, garlic, and cornstarch slurry.
  4. Pour sauce into skillet and cook 1–2 minutes until thickened.
  5. Return chicken to pan and toss to coat in glaze. Simmer 2 minutes.
  6. Serve hot with rice or vegetables. Garnish if desired.

Notes

Use fresh lemon juice for best flavor. Double the sauce if serving over rice or noodles.
