Family-Friendly Honey Garlic Chicken with Creamy Mac & Cheese

A flavorful high-protein honey garlic butter chicken served with creamy homemade mac and cheese for a satisfying, quick dinner.

For the Chicken:

  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

For the Mac & Cheese:

  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1½ cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Season chicken with salt and pepper. Sear in oil over medium heat, 5–6 minutes per side. Set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, melt butter. Add garlic and cook until fragrant.
  3. Stir in honey and soy sauce. Simmer 2–3 minutes.
  4. Return chicken to skillet and coat in sauce. Simmer 2 minutes.
  5. Boil macaroni until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  6. In a pot, melt butter, whisk in flour to make a roux.
  7. Slowly add milk, whisking until thickened.
  8. Stir in cheeses until melted. Add cooked pasta and mix well.
  9. Serve mac and cheese topped with sliced honey garlic chicken.

Notes

Use low-sodium soy sauce if needed. Add red pepper flakes for spice. Substitute cheeses as desired.
