1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into chunks
½ tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp garlic powder
2 eggs, beaten
½ cup cornstarch
½ cup all-purpose flour
Neutral oil for frying
⅓ cup honey
3 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
1 tbsp rice vinegar
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp cornstarch + 1 tbsp water (slurry)
Sesame seeds and green onions, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pat chicken dry and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. Dredge in egg, then coat with flour/cornstarch mix.
  3. Heat oil in skillet and fry chicken 3–4 minutes per side until crispy and golden. Drain.
  4. In a separate pan, simmer honey, soy sauce, vinegar, and garlic for 2–3 minutes.
  5. Stir in cornstarch slurry and cook until thickened.
  6. Add chicken to glaze and toss to coat.
  7. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onion. Serve hot.

Notes

Dry chicken thoroughly for best crisp. Sauce just before serving to maintain crunch.
