1 lb ground beef or sausage
1 tbsp olive oil
1 yellow onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 tsp Italian seasoning
½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes
4 cups beef or chicken broth
8 oz lasagna noodles, broken
½ cup ricotta cheese
¼ cup grated parmesan
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional: ½ cup cream, fresh basil, mozzarella for topping
Instructions
Brown meat and onion in olive oil. Add garlic and sauté 1 minute.
Stir in tomato paste, seasoning, and red pepper flakes.
Add tomatoes, broth, and pasta. Simmer 10–12 mins.
Reduce heat. Stir in ricotta, parmesan, and optional cream.
Serve hot with basil and cheese if desired.
Notes
Add noodles only when ready to serve if prepping ahead.
Use gluten-free pasta as needed.
Freeze without pasta for better reheating texture.
