This Chinese takeout-style Chicken and Broccoli stir-fry features tender chicken, crisp broccoli, and a garlicky brown sauce — ready in just 30 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast or thigh, thinly sliced
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, minced
  • 1 tbsp neutral oil
  • ½ tsp sesame oil

Chicken Marinade:

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp Shaoxing wine
  • ½ tsp cornstarch

Sauce:

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • ¼ cup chicken broth or water
  • ½ tsp cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken for 10–15 minutes.
  2. Blanch broccoli for 1–2 minutes, rinse with cold water.
  3. Mix sauce ingredients in a bowl.
  4. Stir-fry chicken in oil until cooked. Remove.
  5. Sauté garlic and ginger. Add broccoli and chicken.
  6. Pour in sauce and simmer until thickened.
  7. Finish with sesame oil and serve.

Notes

  • Use tamari for gluten-free version
  • Add bell peppers or mushrooms for variety
  • Serve with rice or noodles
