Christmas Crack, or Saltine Toffee Bark, is a salty-sweet holiday treat made with crackers, buttery toffee, and melted chocolate—topped with nuts, candy, or sprinkles.

Ingredients

1 sleeve (about 40) saltine crackers
1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)
1 cup light brown sugar, packed
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Optional toppings: chopped pecans, crushed peppermint, sprinkles, flaky salt
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil or parchment and lightly grease.
Arrange saltines in a single layer to cover the pan.
In a saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar over medium heat. Stir constantly until it boils. Once boiling, stop stirring and let boil for 3 minutes.
Pour toffee over crackers and spread evenly.
Bake for 5 minutes.
Remove from oven and sprinkle with chocolate chips. Let sit for 2–3 minutes, then spread into an even layer.
Add toppings while chocolate is still soft.
Cool at room temp, then chill in fridge for at least 1 hour.
Break into pieces and store in an airtight container.
Notes
Use graham crackers for a sweeter version.
Store in fridge up to 2 weeks or freeze up to 3 months.
