A sweet and zesty chicken dish with juicy seared chicken coated in a sticky honey lemon garlic glaze. Quick, flavorful, and perfect for weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs boneless skinless chicken thighs or breasts
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for coating)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth (optional)
  • 1 tsp cornstarch + 2 tsp water (for thickening)
  • Fresh parsley or green onions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Pat chicken dry and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Optional: Toss chicken in 1 tbsp cornstarch for a light crust.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high. Sear chicken 3–4 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, sauté garlic until fragrant.
  5. Add honey, lemon juice, zest, soy sauce, and broth. Simmer 2–3 minutes.
  6. Stir in cornstarch slurry and cook until sauce thickens.
  7. Return chicken to pan and coat in sauce. Simmer 2–3 minutes.
  8. Garnish and serve hot.

Notes

  • Use tamari for gluten-free version.
  • Add red pepper flakes for heat.
  • Pairs well with rice or roasted veggies.
